Upcoming IPOs Next Week Draw Investor Attention

Hy-Tech Engineers, Skyways Air and Symbiotec Pharmalab are among the IPOs expected to open next week as activity in India’s primary market continues alongside a volatile secondary market.

The supplied schedule identifies nine issues opening during the coming week and eight companies scheduled for listing. The activity gives investors a fresh set of primary-market opportunities even as benchmark indices remain sensitive to global developments and elevated crude oil prices.

Details such as issue size, price bands and individual opening dates for all nine offerings were not provided in the supplied material, so those figures are not included here.

Indian Stock Market Ends Second Week Lower

The upcoming IPO activity comes after a difficult week for Indian equities. The NIFTY50 declined by 114 points, equivalent to 0.5%, while the BSE SENSEX dropped 468.42 points, or 0.6%, during the week ending August 21.

Higher crude prices and weak global cues remained major factors influencing sentiment. Brent crude prices climbed nearly 7% during the week and settled at $93.93 per barrel as uncertainty surrounding efforts to end the Middle East conflict continued.

Concerns over energy supplies also intensified following conflicting developments involving Iran and the United States, including uncertainty over transit through the Strait of Hormuz.

Crude Oil and Global Developments Shape Sentiment

Iran said it would adopt a more offensive stance, while the United States ruled out extending the ceasefire agreement. The developments increased uncertainty over energy supplies and contributed to the rise in crude prices.

U.S. President Donald Trump also announced on August 19 what he described as the “most crushing economic operation ever taken against any country,” threatening broad economic penalties against countries and businesses providing financial or other support to Iran.

Global markets remained mixed during the week amid the uncertainty surrounding oil supplies. Some relief came after U.S. Treasury yields declined following an announcement from the U.S. Treasury Department that it would at least double planned purchases of longer-term Treasuries between September 9 and November 4.

India Diversifies Crude Oil Sources

India is also expanding its crude oil sourcing toward Latin America as disruptions linked to the Iran conflict and uncertainty around the Strait of Hormuz encourage the world’s third-largest oil consumer to diversify supplies.

Ship-tracking data cited in the supplied material indicated that the shift is taking place against a backdrop of continued concern over energy security and international oil flows.
