ALWAR, India — Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday launched Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) programmes for PM-KISAN and the Crop Insurance Scheme in Rajasthan’s Alwar, linking the initiatives to the government’s vision of a developed India by 2047. PM-KISAN DBT launched as Shah outlines ‘GYAN’ vision
Addressing the gathering, Shah said the Narendra Modi-led government was working around the concept of GYAN, which he explained as Gareeb, Yuva, Annadata and Nari — the poor, youth, farmers and women.
According to Shah, empowering these four groups is central to the government’s stated objective of transforming India into a developed nation by 2047.
He said the day’s initiatives reflected this approach, including the transfer of farmer benefits under PM-KISAN and crop insurance, employment opportunities for young people and measures connected with the dairy sector.
10,580 youths receive government job appointment letters
A major part of the Alwar programme was the distribution of appointment letters to 10,580 youths for government jobs. Shah presented the employment initiative as part of the government’s focus on the youth pillar of its GYAN framework.
The event also featured the launch and foundation stone laying of development projects involving large-scale public investment in Rajasthan.
Alwar Medical College to be named after Atal Bihari Vajpayee
Shah announced that Alwar Medical College would be named after former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. He paid tribute to the former Prime Minister and highlighted Vajpayee’s association with governance and India’s nuclear programme.
Shah also referred to the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana while speaking about Vajpayee’s legacy and said villages across the country would continue to remember him through the programme.
Saras Dairy plants and district banks announced
The event also included announcements concerning Rajasthan’s dairy and cooperative banking sectors. Shah said four additional Saras Dairy plants, costing ₹274 crore, were being launched in Bhilwara, Jaipur, Pali and Rajsamand.
He also announced the inauguration of four district-level banks in Phalodi, Balotra, Didwana and Pratapgarh. According to Shah, these institutions will provide zero-interest loans to farmers.
Shah highlights large-scale Rajasthan development works
Shah said ₹152 crore had been transferred through DBT under a Chief Minister’s scheme. He also referred to 954 projects valued at ₹6,453 crore for which foundation stones had been laid or groundbreaking ceremonies conducted.
He further said that projects worth ₹5,500 crore had been inaugurated in Chittorgarh earlier in the day. Combining the works mentioned for Chittorgarh and Alwar, Shah put the day’s total at ₹11,953 crore.
Shah attacks Congress leadership in Rajasthan
The Home Minister also used the event to target the Congress party, alleging that its Rajasthan leadership was occupied with internal disagreements. He referred to former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and other state leaders while claiming that voters had already decided in favour of the BJP.
Shah described the Congress’s previous electoral performance in strong terms and said the BJP would retain the support of Rajasthan’s people.
Bhajanlal Sharma praises development push
Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma said the projects inaugurated and initiated during the programme would provide fresh momentum to the state’s development.
Sharma said the initiatives, costing more than ₹5,659 crore according to his statement, represented a step towards the state’s overall development.
