NEW DELHI, India — Mahindra has launched the updated 2026 Mahindra BE 6 SPORTEQ in India, bringing a new 70 kWh battery option, a redesigned three-screen cabin, expanded technology features and fresh colour choices to the electric SUV. Mahindra is also offering BaaS on the 59 kWh SPORTEQ One and SPORTEQ Two. Under this arrangement, the upfront prices are Rs 11.45 lakh and Rs 12.95 lakh respectively, with a battery charge of Rs 3.75 per km.
BE 6 SPORTEQ Gets New 70 kWh Battery
The biggest mechanical addition is the 70 kWh battery pack, positioned between the existing 59 kWh and 79 kWh options. It produces 245 PS and 380 Nm, with a claimed MIDC Part 1 + Part 2 range of 651 km.

All three battery configurations use a single electric motor. The 79 kWh version remains the most powerful option, producing 286 PS and 380 Nm while offering a claimed range of 683 km.
The largest battery pack supports up to 180 kW DC fast charging. According to the supplied specifications, it can charge from 20 per cent to 80 per cent in around 20 minutes.
Exterior Design Remains Familiar
Mahindra has not made major changes to the BE 6’s exterior design. The SPORTEQ retains the futuristic coupe-SUV silhouette, sharp aerodynamic lines and the distinctive C-shaped connected LED DRLs.
The front features slim LED headlamp clusters, LED fog lamps, gloss-black elements and a silver skid plate. Flush door handles and 19-inch dual-tone alloy wheels continue on the side profile, while the rear carries the two-part roof spoiler, illuminated Mahindra logo and C-shaped LED tail lamps.
The Formula E versions receive larger 20-inch wheels, adding a more performance-oriented visual character.
New Colours Expand the BE 6 Palette
The 2026 Mahindra BE 6 SPORTEQ introduces three new exterior shades: Ruby Velvet, Rosso Impulso and Graphite Storm. The wider palette also includes Tango Red, Firestorm Orange, Deep Forest, Desert Myst, Everest White and Stealth Black.
Rosso Impulso is exclusive to the Formula E Edition, while Graphite Storm is offered with the Launch Edition. The Formula E Edition is available with satin finishes.
Three-Screen Cabin Brings Major Interior Change
The cabin receives a more substantial update than the exterior. Higher SPORTEQ variants feature a new three-screen arrangement, replacing the central halo partition used in the earlier design.
The upper variants also introduce a black-and-tan interior theme, with tan leatherette across the dashboard, seats and door pads. Gloss-black elements are used around the centre console, while removing the halo partition creates space for two cupholders.
The Formula E Freedom Edition follows a different approach and retains the two-screen halo-inspired cockpit.
Features and TEQ Technology
The updated electric SUV gets a 12.3-inch passenger entertainment screen alongside a 12.3-inch infotainment display and digital instrument cluster. Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are supported, while a 16-speaker Harman Kardon system handles audio.
Other equipment includes dual wireless phone chargers, a six-way power-adjustable driver’s seat with memory, panoramic glass roof, ambient lighting, dual-zone climate control, powered tailgate, connected-car technology and ventilated front seats.
Mahindra has also introduced six TEQ software suites through its MAIA artificial intelligence architecture. TEQ_Talk uses Google Gemini for functions involving vehicle controls, navigation, music and news.
TEQ_Play focuses on entertainment features, while TEQ_Drive introduces functions including Custom Drive Mode, Drift Mode, Tribe Drive and Revive SOS. TEQ_Me handles personalisation, TEQ_Secure adds security functions and TEQ_xting enables personalised tailgate messages.
Safety Equipment and Driver Assistance
The BE 6 SPORTEQ gets seven airbags, electronic stability control, tyre pressure monitoring, all-wheel disc brakes, traction control and hill-hold assist.
The equipment list also includes a Level 2+ ADAS suite, front and rear parking sensors and a 540-degree camera system, adding advanced driver assistance to the technology package.
Formula E Freedom Edition Gets 79 kWh Battery
Mahindra has separately introduced the BE 6 Formula E Freedom Edition with only the 79 kWh battery. The Formula E version is priced at Rs 24.45 lakh, while the Freedom Edition costs Rs 26.95 lakh, excluding the charger.
Both versions feature a black-and-Firestorm Orange cabin. Equipment includes an infinity roof, LED DRL animation, adaptive suspension, powered driver’s seat with memory, carpet lamps and virtual engine sounds.
The higher variant additionally gets Gemini support, live HUD, auto parking, Level 2 ADAS, knee airbag, button start and Capsense virtual engine sound.
Existing Mahindra EVs to Receive Selected Software Updates
Mahindra has confirmed that owners of the existing BE 6, XEV 9e and XEV 9S will receive selected software features introduced with the SPORTEQ range.
The phased over-the-air rollout is scheduled to begin in January 2027. However, the available functions will depend on each vehicle’s model, variant, hardware, battery specification and existing equipment.
This means existing owners will not necessarily receive the complete SPORTEQ technology package, but compatible software features can be added without replacing the vehicle.
Boot Space, Deliveries and Rivals
The BE 6 offers 455 litres of boot capacity along with a 45-litre frunk. The additional front storage area can accommodate the portable charger and smaller items.
