Pratika Rawal joins Warwickshire for the 2026 One-Day Cup
Pratika Rawal Signs for Warwickshire Ahead of 2026 One-Day Cup Run

India batter Pratika Rawal is set to begin a new chapter in her career after signing for Warwickshire Women for the remainder of the 2026 season. The 25-year-old top-order batter will join the English side ahead of the upcoming One-Day Cup fixtures and could be considered for the clash against Yorkshire at Edgbaston on August 19.

Warwickshire add Pratika Rawal to their batting lineup

Warwickshire have brought Rawal into their squad at an important stage of the One-Day Cup campaign. The club believe her experience at international level can add depth and quality to their batting as they push to end the season strongly.

Rawal has made a rapid impact since breaking into India’s international setup in December 2024. In 26 50-over internationals, she has collected 1,189 runs at an average of 47.56, establishing herself as a dependable opening batter for the national team.

Rawal played an important part in India’s 2025 World Cup success

The batter was among India’s key contributors during their 2025 World Cup triumph. She finished the tournament with 308 runs, making her India’s second-highest run-getter in the competition.

Her century against New Zealand proved particularly valuable during a crucial stage of the tournament. Rawal’s campaign was eventually cut short by an ankle injury, which prevented her from featuring in India’s knockout matches.

Indian batter also makes Test debut

Rawal’s international journey has expanded beyond the 50-over format. She made her Test debut against Australia in March 2026 and made an immediate contribution, scoring 68 in India’s second innings.

Her move to Warwickshire now gives her an opportunity to experience English domestic cricket and adapt to conditions outside the international environment.

Warwickshire coach backs Rawal signing

Warwickshire Women head coach Ali Maiden welcomed the addition of the Indian batter and believes her arrival can make the team’s already strong position in the One-Day Cup even better.

“This is a fantastic signing for the team, and we’re very pleased to be able to welcome Pratika to Edgbaston.”

Maiden also pointed to Rawal’s quality as an international player, saying her presence should strengthen Warwickshire’s lineup as the team targets a positive finish to the season.

Pratika Rawal excited about playing in England

Rawal said she was delighted to join Warwickshire after hearing positive things about the club. She is also looking forward to challenging herself in English conditions and contributing to the team’s campaign.

For Rawal, the opportunity carries an added attraction because she will get to play at Edgbaston, a venue with a long-standing place in international cricket.

“It’s going to be a great experience for me to test myself playing in England. Walking out at Edgbaston, which is such an iconic ground in world cricket, is also something I’m looking forward to.”

When can Pratika Rawal make her Warwickshire debut?

Rawal is available for Warwickshire’s upcoming One-Day Cup fixtures, with the August 19 meeting against Yorkshire at Edgbaston currently standing out as a potential first appearance for the Indian batter.

Her stint with Warwickshire will run until the conclusion of the 2026 season, giving the India international valuable exposure to English domestic cricket while providing Warwickshire with an experienced top-order option for the remainder of their One-Day Cup campaign.
