Muzaffarnagar, India — A burglary at the home of retired police officer Deshpal Chaudhary in Uttar Pradesh’s Muzaffarnagar district has raised questions about residential security and night-time surveillance after valuables estimated by the family at around ₹2.5 crore were stolen. The house is located in a residential area immediately behind the Budhana tehsil complex and about 20 metres from the official residences of the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) and Circle Officer (CO).

The probe is also examining the couple’s ongoing marital dispute and claims raised publicly by Divya’s elder sister and senior journalist Pragya Mishra.
