BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla has sparked speculation about his political future after removing the BJP reference from his bio on X. However, there has been no official confirmation from Poonawalla that he has left the Bharatiya Janata Party.

His updated profile describes his religion as Islam, culture as Hindu and ideology as “Bhartiya”, while also identifying him as an author of “GST Ki Yatra”. The bio continues to describe him as a lifelong follower of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
At the same time, Poonawalla’s current Instagram bio still identifies him as a “BJP Spokesperson”. His earlier X bio also carried the BJP spokesperson designation.
The difference between his social media profiles has led to speculation about whether Poonawalla could be considering a political move. However, the available information does not establish that he has resigned from or left the BJP.
