Will Jacks Sets the Tone with Explosive Fifty

After Manchester Super Giants opted to bowl first, MI London openers immediately attacked the bowling. Will Jacks looked in outstanding touch from the very beginning, smashing boundaries all around the ground and ensuring his side dominated the mandatory powerplay.

Jacks raced to his half-century in just 28 deliveries, bringing up one of the quickest fifties of the season. The England all-rounder eventually scored an entertaining 62 off only 31 balls, including three fours and six massive sixes at an exceptional strike rate of 200.00.

His aggressive approach helped MI London reach 50 in only 29 balls before sharing an opening partnership worth 71 runs with James Vince.

James Vince Provides Perfect Support

While Jacks dominated the scoring, James Vince played the ideal supporting role. He rotated strike efficiently, punished loose deliveries and ensured the pressure remained on the bowlers throughout the opening phase.

Vince contributed 29 runs from 20 balls with four boundaries and one six before Liam Dawson broke the opening stand. By then, MI London had already established complete control over the innings.

Nicholas Pooran Continues His Brilliant Form

West Indies star Nicholas Pooran continued his remarkable batting form after arriving at number three. He immediately launched an aggressive counterattack against both pace and spin, clearing the ropes with remarkable ease.

Pooran completed his fifty from just 25 deliveries and finished with a superb 54 off 28 balls, hitting five fours and four sixes. His fearless batting prevented Manchester Super Giants from making any comeback after the dismissal of Will Jacks.

Sam Curran Accelerates During Death Overs

Captain Sam Curran ensured MI London maintained their momentum in the closing stages. The left-hander blasted 23 runs from only 11 deliveries, striking at over 209 while sharing a rapid partnership with Nicholas Pooran.

The pair added 44 runs in just 23 balls, pushing MI London beyond the 150-run mark and placing enormous pressure on the opposition bowlers.

Late Cameos Lift MI London to Their Highest Total

Although Sherfane Rutherford and Tom Curran departed cheaply, Rashid Khan remained unbeaten at the finish with a quick cameo. MI London eventually closed their innings on 183/6, their highest total of The Hundred 2026 campaign and one that proved more than enough on the night.

Manchester Super Giants Chase Falls Apart After Bright Start

Chasing 184, Manchester Super Giants began confidently as Tim Seifert and captain Aiden Markram attacked the new ball. The pair added 59 runs for the opening wicket, with Markram producing his best innings of the tournament. However, once Rashid Khan was introduced into the attack, the momentum shifted dramatically in MI London’s favour.

Markram top-scored with 50 off 26 balls, but none of the remaining middle-order batters could build a meaningful partnership. Jos Buttler, Heinrich Klaasen and Tom Moores all fell during Rashid Khan’s destructive spell as the chase unraveled.

Rashid Khan Produces Match-Winning Five-Wicket Spell

Afghanistan superstar Rashid Khan delivered one of the finest bowling performances in The Hundred history, finishing with remarkable figures of 5/17 from 20 balls. He dismissed Tim Seifert, Jos Buttler, Heinrich Klaasen, Tom Moores and Liam Dawson to completely derail Manchester Super Giants’ chase.

It was Rashid’s first five-wicket haul in The Hundred and his first T20 five-for since January 2022. His spell ensured Manchester Super Giants were bowled out for 138 in 95 balls, handing MI London a dominant 45-run victory.
