LUCKNOW: The Uttar Pradesh government led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath spent ₹6,811.94 crore on publicity and government communication between the financial years 2017-18 and 2024-25, according to an analysis of state budget documents published by Newslaundry. The expenditure works out to an average of ₹2.32 crore every day, a figure that the report says is higher than the Centre’s average daily advertising expenditure during the Narendra Modi government’s tenure.
