रूस-यूक्रेन युद्ध से जुड़ा आजमगढ़ और मऊ के 13 युवकों का मामला नौकरी के नाम पर हुए धोखे, मानव तस्करी और परिवारों को मिलने वाली रकम के गलत तरीके से इस्तेमाल का गंभीर मामला बनकर सामने आया है। स्रोत के अनुसार, इन युवकों को सुरक्षा गार्ड, रसोइया और निर्माण सहायक जैसी सामान्य नौकरियों का भरोसा देकर रूस ले जाया गया था। रूस पहुंचने के बाद उनके पासपोर्ट और मोबाइल फोन ले लिए गए और रूसी भाषा में तैयार सैन्य अनुबंधों पर हस्ताक्षर करा दिए गए। इसके बाद उन्हें हथियारों की ट्रेनिंग देकर यूक्रेन सीमा के युद्ध क्षेत्र में भेज दिया गया।
