UP Rain Alert: Heavy Rain Warning Issued for These Districts

The weather department has issued a heavy rainfall warning for Sonbhadra, Lakhimpur Kheri, Saharanpur, Shamli, Muzaffarnagar, Meerut, Bijnor, Amroha, Moradabad, Rampur, Bareilly, Pilibhit, Mahoba, Jhansi and Lalitpur, along with adjoining areas.

Residents in these districts should remain alert as rainfall intensity could increase in some areas.

Thunderstorm and Lightning Warning Issued Across UP

A thunderstorm and lightning warning has been issued for several districts, including Banda, Chitrakoot, Fatehpur, Bahraich, Lakhimpur Kheri, Sitapur, Hardoi, Farrukhabad, Kannauj, Kanpur Dehat, Kanpur Nagar, Saharanpur, Shamli, Muzaffarnagar, Baghpat, Meerut, Ghaziabad, Hapur, Gautam Buddh Nagar, Bulandshahr, Aligarh, Mathura, Hathras, Kasganj, Etah, Agra, Firozabad, Mainpuri, Etawah, Auraiya, Bijnor, Amroha, Moradabad, Rampur, Bareilly, Pilibhit, Shahjahanpur, Sambhal, Budaun, Jalaun, Hamirpur, Mahoba, Jhansi and Lalitpur.

People are advised to follow official weather updates and take precautions during thunderstorms and lightning, particularly when outdoors.

Uttar Pradesh Records 25% Rainfall Deficit

Despite recent spells of rain, Uttar Pradesh has recorded below-normal rainfall during the current period. From July 1 to July 28, the state received around 240 mm of rainfall against the estimated normal of 333 mm, resulting in a rainfall deficit of approximately 25%.

Lucknow Rain Alert: Know Today’s Weather Forecast

According to the forecast, Lucknow is likely to have a mostly clear sky on Wednesday, with clouds moving intermittently. Some areas of the capital may receive rain accompanied by thunder and lightning.

The maximum temperature in Lucknow is expected to rise by around 1 degree Celsius to 36°C, while the minimum temperature is likely to remain around 27°C.

Lucknow Records 40% Rainfall Deficit

Lucknow has also experienced a significant rainfall deficit. Between June 1 and July 28, the city recorded around 174 mm of rainfall against a normal estimate of 229.4 mm, resulting in a deficit of approximately 40%.

Basti Records Highest Temperature in Uttar Pradesh

Basti was the hottest district in Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday, recording a maximum temperature of 36.27°C, which was around 2°C above normal.

Meanwhile, Hardoi recorded the lowest minimum temperature at 21°C, around 5°C below normal.

Monsoon Activity May Ease Temporarily

Meteorologist Dr Atul Singh said several parts of Uttar Pradesh could experience rain accompanied by thunderstorms on Wednesday.

Monsoon activity is expected to weaken slightly from Thursday. However, light rain with thunderstorms may continue in some parts of the state.

The monsoon is expected to become active again after around three days. According to the forecast, heavy rainfall could then continue across parts of Uttar Pradesh for another four to five days.

UP Weather: What Residents Should Expect

With heavy rain, thunderstorms and lightning forecast across several districts, residents should keep track of official weather advisories and avoid unnecessary exposure during severe weather conditions.

The weather situation is expected to remain dynamic over the coming days, with another spell of stronger monsoon activity possible after the temporary reduction in rainfall.
