MUMBAI, India — Television actor Avika Gor has been hospitalised after testing positive for dengue following five days of high fever, her husband Milind Chandwani said on Saturday. According to Chandwani, Gor continued with professional commitments despite her temperature reaching 103-104 degrees Fahrenheit.

Avika Gor hospitalised after dengue diagnosis

Avika Gor, best known for her role in Balika Vadhu, is currently receiving medical care after being diagnosed with dengue. Her husband shared the health update on Instagram and said she had been admitted to hospital the previous night.

Chandwani said Gor had been dealing with a high fever for five consecutive days before her hospitalisation. Despite the illness, she continued working on projects she had already committed to.

Actor completed shoot despite high fever

According to Chandwani, two days of shooting remained on one of Gor’s projects when she was running a temperature of up to 104 degrees. He said she attended the shoot and the pending work was completed in a single day.

Gor then returned home during a scheduled two-day break and spent the time resting and taking medicines. Chandwani said she was experiencing significant weakness and was unable to eat properly.

She later travelled to Delhi for an advertisement shoot despite continuing to have a fever. Chandwani said Gor underwent testing before the trip, while the dengue diagnosis became known after she returned to Mumbai.

Milind Chandwani said he asked her to postpone work

Chandwani said he repeatedly encouraged Gor to postpone her professional commitments until she recovered. He said he believed producers would understand the circumstances and reschedule the work.

However, according to Chandwani, Gor remained determined to fulfil her commitments because she did not want other people’s time, money or work to be affected by a delay.

He praised her dedication to her profession and her consideration for people working with her, describing her commitment to her craft as a quality he deeply respects.

Husband asks fans to pray for her recovery

Chandwani asked fans and followers to keep Gor in their prayers while she recovers in hospital.

In the social media post accompanying his update, he highlighted the severity of her fever and her decision to continue working before her dengue diagnosis was confirmed.
