Tata Sons FY26 profit rises 21.8% to Rs 31,961 crore; revenue up 9%

Tata Sons FY26 profit recorded strong growth during the financial year 2025-26, with the company reporting a 21.8% increase in profit after tax (PAT) to Rs 31,961 crore. Revenue also rose 9.1% year-on-year to Rs 42,367 crore, according to the company’s FY26 Annual Report released on Monday.
The company also announced that its board has recommended a final dividend of Rs 1,10,717 per share, subject to approval from shareholders.
Tata Sons FY26 profit posts double-digit growth
In his letter to shareholders, Tata Sons Chairman N Chandrasekaran described FY26 as a positive year for the Tata Group in terms of financial performance. He said Tata Sons achieved healthy growth in both revenue and profit during the financial year.
According to the annual report, Tata Sons’ revenue increased by 9.1% to Rs 42,367 crore, while profit after tax climbed 21.8% to Rs 31,961 crore.
Board recommends final dividend
The company’s board has proposed a final dividend of Rs 1,10,717 per share. The dividend will become payable after receiving approval from shareholders.
Group-level financial performance
The FY26 Annual Report also highlighted strong growth across the Tata Group. Aggregate revenue increased by 7.8% to Rs 16.24 lakh crore during FY26.
Profit after tax at the group level surged 51.9% to Rs 1.71 lakh crore, reflecting significant improvement over the previous financial year.

Tata Electronics emerges as fourth-largest group company
The report highlighted the rapid growth of Tata Electronics during FY26. The business reported revenue of Rs 1,31,082 crore during the financial year.
N Chandrasekaran said Tata Electronics has become the fourth-largest Tata Group company by revenue within four years of its formation. He also stated that the company’s operating profits have reached breakeven.
Air India reports higher losses
While several businesses delivered strong financial performance, Air India continued to face challenges during FY26. The airline’s loss widened to Rs 22,238 crore compared with Rs 10,859 crore in the previous year.
According to Chandrasekaran, the difficult year was driven by multiple factors, including airspace closures, higher fuel costs triggered by the West Asia conflict, foreign exchange fluctuations and the AI171 crash. He described FY26 as the most challenging year for Air India.

Chairman’s statement
In his message to shareholders, N Chandrasekaran said FY26 was a good year for the Tata Group from a financial perspective. He added that the group’s revenue is now 2.1 times and profits are 5.4 times their FY20 levels, reflecting sustained turnaround efforts across the institution.
