Maruti Suzuki Q1 FY27 results showing quarterly profit and revenue performance
Maruti Suzuki reports an 11% fall in Q1 FY27 net profit despite strong revenue growth.

Maruti Suzuki India reported an 11% year-on-year decline in standalone net profit to ₹3,352 crore for the April-June quarter of FY27, compared with ₹3,758 crore in the same quarter last year. The decline came mainly due to higher material costs, which were further impacted by the war. Despite the pressure on profitability, the company’s revenue from operations rose sharply by 36% YoY to ₹52,456 crore.

Maruti Suzuki Q1 FY27 Results: Revenue Rises to ₹52,456 Crore

Maruti Suzuki’s total revenue from operations, including the sale of products and other operating revenue, increased to ₹52,456 crore in Q1 FY27 from ₹38,593 crore in the year-ago quarter.

However, the increase in revenue did not translate into higher operating profit. The company’s operating profit, or earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA), declined 7% YoY to ₹4,312 crore from ₹4,621 crore in the corresponding period of the previous financial year.

Maruti Suzuki’s EBITDA margin also weakened during the quarter. The operating profit margin stood at 8.22%, compared with 11.97% in the same period last year.

Higher Material Costs Weigh on Maruti Suzuki Profit

The decline in Maruti Suzuki’s quarterly net profit was primarily attributed to higher material costs. According to the company, the pressure on material expenses intensified during the quarter due to the impact of the war.

While higher sales supported revenue growth, increased costs affected the company’s operating profitability and resulted in a lower net profit compared with the year-ago period.

Maruti Suzuki Domestic Market Share Rises to 41.2%

Maruti Suzuki said its domestic market share increased by 2.3 percentage points to 41.2% during the quarter.

The company attributed the higher sales partly to the commissioning of its second manufacturing plant in Kharkhoda. Despite the increase in sales, Maruti said its network inventory level at the end of the quarter was only around 13 days.

“Higher sales were possible because the company commissioned its second plant in Kharkhoda. Despite increased sales, the network inventory level at the end of the quarter was only about 13 days,”

Maruti Suzuki Launches Flex-Fuel Wagon R

During the quarter, Maruti Suzuki introduced what it described as India’s first flex-fuel car, based on the Wagon R. The company said the model builds on its efforts in alternate-fuel vehicles, including CNG and LPG.

The flex-fuel technology was introduced in June as part of Maruti Suzuki’s focus on alternative fuel technologies.

Maruti Approves Four CBG Projects Worth ₹561 Crore

Maruti Suzuki’s board has approved four compressed biogas (CBG) projects in the first phase, with a total budget of ₹561 crore.

The company said it will consider expanding its CBG manufacturing operations based on the experience and outcomes of these initial projects.

Maruti Suzuki June Sales Rise 19.3%

Maruti Suzuki reported total sales of 200,390 units in June, marking a 19.3% increase from 167,993 units sold in June 2025.

Total domestic passenger vehicle sales stood at 147,187 units in June, compared with 118,906 units in the same month last year, representing growth of 23.8%.

Sales of mini cars, including the Alto and S-Presso, increased to 11,416 units from 6,414 units a year earlier.

Compact car sales, covering models such as Baleno, Celerio, Dzire, Ignis, Swift and WagonR, stood at 63,815 units in June, compared with 55,205 units in June 2025.

Maruti Suzuki India shares closed at ₹14,234 apiece on the National Stock Exchange on Friday, July 31, registering a gain of 0.32% during the session.

The company’s stock has declined 15% since the beginning of 2026, while it has gained 1% over the past month.

Maruti Suzuki shares touched a 52-week high of ₹17,370 on January 5, 2026, and a 52-week low of ₹12,201 on March 30, 2026.

According to the supplied NSE data, Maruti Suzuki had a total market capitalisation of ₹4.48 lakh crore as of July 31, 2026.

What Maruti Suzuki Q1 FY27 Results Show

Maruti Suzuki’s Q1 FY27 performance reflects a mixed quarter for the country’s largest carmaker. Strong vehicle sales and a 36% rise in revenue supported the top line, while higher material costs put pressure on operating profit and net earnings.

The company’s increased domestic market share, new flex-fuel technology initiative and planned CBG projects also remained key developments during the quarter. Maruti Suzuki will now continue to focus on sales growth while managing costs and expanding its alternative-fuel initiatives.
